An executive on Thai Air got fired last month because he took over 50 extra bags when he flew from Japan to Thailand. He should have paid several hundreds of thousands THB in fines but he did not pay anything. He also did not pay anything to the customs officers in Bangkok because he sent the luggage to lost and found department when he arrived. The union of all people has now filed a complaint with the PM of Thailand telling him to look into this matter.
The customs office of Thailand says they have no control over the lost luggage, personal staff exits and some other places. They said that these exits are constantly used by highly connected people to go in and out in the Bangkok airport and avoid paying tax for good like normal people do.
If Thailand wants to stop groups similar to the Redshirts that now creating havoc in Bangkok traffic this is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be stopped, people with connection that can afford to pay tax for good but just ignore it because they are rich and famous.
