A critical ill patient, who is staying at the five star BUMRUNGRAD hospital in the central Bangkok, lost her money to a thief in the room yesterday.
The Hospital that has five start facilities and has many foreigners staying in the hospital has no security cameras inside or outside the rooms only in the corner of corridors.
The patient was sleeping most of the time and sharing a room with another patient in the hospital could not say if it was a staff member or the guest that stole the money.
The Thai police have been notified about the lose of about 100 000 THB but the chance to get them back with the rest of the wallet is slim.

We are very sure the incident took place since we saw the patient and her friend file a complaint at the police station. We can not answer if you do not have any record of the incident or not. Since nobody could be blamed for the missing wallet maybe the security guard did not report it? It was a shared room so maybe the other guest or a friend of the other guest took it. We are not applying that the staff in the hospital took it or that this is something going on only in your hospital. We just like to warn our readers to be careful even in a five star hospital.

We were concerned about this report and investigated. We can find no record of the incident. We would know if a patient complained or a police report had been filed.
If this actually happened, would the patient please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Bumrungrad has security personnel for every floor, and amenities such as safety deposit boxes for our patients. In placing our security cameras, we must balance the protection of property with the protection of patient privacy.
