Thailand is trying to become another HUB. During the last 7 years I been here Thailand has been trying to be a hub for so many thing I can not even remember. They tried with travel hub but because the airport is a total failure they can forget about that. They also wanted to be a car hub same a Detroit of Asia and then they start taking 30 % of investment and so much for that hub dream. They can forget about the movie shooting hub they plan as long as they have censor board in place. If they want to become a book hub they really make sure that people can actually read outside Bangkok and that have books in school.
The new hub the government now is trying to establish is an internet hub they are trying to get Thailand to be a internet hub within 5 years with the new fiber link to USA. Well I can inform the guys in the government that as a internet hub you can not block sites, you can not close down forums, you can not sell piracy software in the streets and not have only a few internet connections companies and where is the free Wifi in Bangkok.
