The big deportations from Thailand by the Thai immigration have started. A few people I know called me and said their friend has been deported from Thailand. Apparently it is the special branch of the Thai police the do the searching and finding of all “criminals.†They Thai police we talked to said that Pattaya had a few cases but Khonkaen had over 200 foreigners that should be deported from Thailand. I guess people hide up there and never bother to go for a visa run or something like that. It is not only criminals the Thai special branch want to kick out they also have their target on:
Foreigners who are wanted from their home country
Foreigners with an outstanding arrest warrant in Thailand
Foreigners that jumped bail in Thailand
Foreigners with overstayed visa
Foreigners that are wanted for other reasons
Many will and can be deported with no trail because if you want a trial you need to stay in jail until the court hearing and that can take years. Many foreigners then think it is easier to just go home and forget about Thailand.
If you feel that you might be targeted buy the immigration finish your business in Thailand before it is too late. When they come you will only get to pack your bags and go and no time for selling house and other things.
