Consumers in Thailand can call the 23 of august their new day of justice. The new Consumer Case Procedures Act will take affect then. It will be much easier and cheaper for a consumer to sue and the case will not be handled by a local court not one far away.
All consumers that want to complain can do so to the OCPB, by mail, e-mail, the 1166 hotline or at the city hall in each Muang district.
Most cases are about property developers not holding up their end and because a lot of money is involved people want to sue. But maybe with the new law there will be smaller cases as well where people treated unfairly.
Maybe finally the hotel and travel business in Thailand will understand that they can not treat customers how they want. Since the court proceeding will go very quick somebody on holiday could actually use this court.
