Should I Travel to Thailand?

Should I Travel to Thailand?

Where is it flooded in Thailand?

At the moment I would advice everybody to stay away from those 22 provinces that are flooded. The biggest concern is off course Bangkok since most tourists do not visit the other 21 Thai provinces.

Beach resorts like Pattaya, Hua Hin, Krabi, Phuket and Samui is not in the danger zoon even if Pattaya was flooded one month ago.
If you have any plans to book a holiday to Thailand at the moment I would therefore advice you not travel to Bangkok or Pattaya but Krabi, Samui , Hua Hin and Phuket is ok.
Is there food and water in Thailand?

Most of the food supplies are made in the provinces flooded and the transport system is down. Bangkok shopping malls are totally empty for things to eat and Pattaya is running dangerous low as well. Many people from Bangkok have taken a holiday to Pattaya as a last resort and the traffic is massive at the moment.
There is no real panic at the moment since you still can get a bottle of water and food some places but who knows in a week, the panic is in the air and people need fresh water on a daily bases.

Can I still shop in Bangkok?

The malls and the big super centers are empty and the smaller shops are closed. The big malls will probably close soon since the water will shut them down. If you looking for empty stores and no traffic jams now Bangkok is wide open.

Is there any disease in Thailand?

There have been no outbreak of cholera or any other epidemic so far but if Bangkok water will be cut off this week and the toilets get flooded who knows? People will just use the water as toilet and there is a big chance of an epidemic.

Is the Thai government in control?

The Thai government sends different signals everyday and I would say 99 % of the Thai people have no trust in the government fixing the flooding anytime soon. The relief efforts are a disaster and they simple do not know what to do when Bangkok gets flooded they have no plan for it.

Are the Thai airports open?

The old airports serving some domestic low cost carriers are closed and it is big risk that the big airport in Bangkok will be closed as well.ngkok Old Airport flooded
