I’m sure that all of the tourists here in Thailand must used to be disturbed by the street vendor at least once, especially when you are at the restaurant. Even you try to ignore them; they are still there and give you the pity face like to beg you to buy something from them at least for ten minutes. It’s getting worse when some street vendors are not only giving you the pity faces but they beg you with Thai words that you don’t understand, not one word but they talk with you like they are telling you the whole story of their lives.
Here is the way to get rid of them since ignoring them is not working anymore. You can say to them nicely with the words “mai-aow-krub†or “mai-aow-kaâ€. If they are still there and try so hard to get money from you, you have to strongly emphasize the words by not ending with “krub†or “ka†this time because they are too nicely.
And if they are still there, you can say “mai-aow-mai-mee-ngoen†which means I don’t want it, I have no money. I’m sure they are going to go away from you for sure.
