Red shirts give up in Bangkok

The Thai holiday of Songkran has been extended until the 17 of April even if many people were not planning to come back to work anyway until Monday next week anyway.

The move is for the government of Thailand to bring Bangkok back to normal after the red shirt protesters have surrendered.

I must say I am really amazed of the hatred Thai people have to a fellow Thai and how little people really care about the politics.

The red shirts are mostly poor farmers from north east Thailand and can not afford the luxury the Bangkok has. In forums all over Thailand I have seen normal Bangkok people saying “kill them all” and “lock them up or drown them in the river”. They blame them for closing down Paragon shopping mall so they could not go shopping?

I think this is just start from something bigger if the Thai government does not fix the gap between the poor and the rich soon it will have the same problem as they have in south Thailand. Thailand had a guerilla fighting for right in north Thailand not long time ago and maybe will have it soon again.

Bangkok is almost back to normal now and on Monday it will be fully functional and people can visit Paragon and Central world once again.

Happy Songkran or what is left of it.
