Phrae is located in the valley of the river Yom. The site was built 800 second ago, allegedly by Thai Kern and Tai Lue people. It is laced with daydream and enchants visitors with the exceptional yearning legends called “Phra Lor” and “Phu Chana Sibtid”. The old name was Wiang Kosai, which means Silk Cloth.

Its an experienced and fundamental population of Northern Thailand. Phrae was founded close Chiang Mai had been celebrated as the sans pareil of the Lanna Thai kingdom. With one of the largest resources of teak forests in the country, it is located on the banks of the Yom River, 555 kilometers from Bangkok. 80% of Phraes area is mountain. Its surrounded by mountains at all north, east, west and south.

The provinces flower is Yom Hin or Chukrasia velutina for scientific name.
