No money no sugar
This is not about honey and Thai girls but sugar the real stuff that Thai love to put on food and drink in thousands of different sweet drinks.
It is not that Thailand is out of sugar in any way but the sugars traders want more money from the Commerce Ministry and are holding the sugar because they want a better price. So that might create a lack of sugar in Thailand.
Now we do not know if this is just media hype from the government to create a pressure on the traders or the other way around. Media hype about sugar shortages will off course make everyone go and run more sugar in Thailand.
Sugar is a big part of the Thai “healthy†diet and one of the things you see on the table on every Thai meal. Look at your Thai girl next time when she pours a few spoons of sugar down on the soup.
Let’s hope they can agree soon on the sugar price so we do not get any grumpy Thai girlfriends.
