My first power black out in Thailand

My first power black out in Thailand

My first real power failure I had during the rainy season. The rain had made the power box for the whole block unstable and it just said bang! The whole block off houses went out and everything went pitch black. The bang was so loud and it was only 5 meter from our house.

One house has a key to reset the main power box or at least that’s how it works in Bangkok I do not know about other cities or in the country side. If the house that has the key is not home then you just have to wait until they come back and that can be the next day.

So what to do in a dark house with no power and its raining? You find a flash light but I had not bought one because that’s not the first thing you do when you move in to a new house in a new country.

The next day I went looking for flash lights but most lights where just crap so I start looking on the internet and found OpticsPlanet.net. They sell flash lights that to used by The Police, for Firefighting, military purposes and off course to people that had there first power blackout in Bangkok. They also sell pelican flashlights that are safe to use if you have a gas leak and can be used under water, witch is good because it can rain a lot in Thailand.
I bought a Pelican Laser and I am now ready for the next power blackout, bring it on!
