I want to give some Kudos to the staff in Pattaya Carrefour shopping center for acting like any western company should do.
I wanted to buy two pandas as a gift and they had an offer that I could buy one and get one free. Since I am a big sucker for buy one get one free I took the offer and picked the pandas.
When I wanted to pay the cashier wanted to charge me for two pandas and I explained that was not what I saw in the promotion that was posted in very large yellow notes.
She called some other staff and I waited for a good 10 minutes then I went in to check the offer one more time and I saw they have taken it away. I went to the cashier and asked her to call the manager and a girl came up.
Before I had the time to tell her off for removing the offer she handed me the two pandas and said.
-“sorry for waiting in 3 minutes but here for free for youâ€
Well I had waited for 15 min but I would not say no to two free pandas for almost 1000 THB.
I think Pattaya Carrefour shopping center handled the matter very well and I know that had I got to another company they would tell me to bugger off.

They were lucky they gave me the dang panda if not i would have taken them to consumer court just for fun! 🙂

You know you have spent two long time in Asia when you start thinking what you experienced as a good customer experience. 😉 What western company would have gone and took down the advertisements and then continue playing dumb? You were lucky sort of this time but I would never give kudos for a place for this experience.
