One think you can say about Thailand is that they know how to make a law stick pretty quickly. The prime minister forbid military clothing a few month ago and then we have the never ending no water guns on Songkran. The latest stunt from the Thai government is to forbid the game Grand Theft Auto. One disturbed 18 year old killed a Taxi driver after he played the game on 4 August, but we all know that that was just something he made up. Computer games do not kill anyone but people do.
As usual there is no law to back up the banning of the game but people normally comply for a few months to look good and then the sale is back on. I feel for the dead taxi driver but I also feel for the Thai democracy process and the rights of freedom and they get harder pushed every day.
