Ranong is one of the southern provinces of Thailand, at the cornerstone to the Andaman Sea. It is the realm with the fewest citizens. To the west, it further borders to Kawthaung Province, Union of Myanmar. Ranong is subdivided matter 5 districts. These are fresh subdivided significance 30 sub districts and 167 villages. Ranong itself is the select town (thesaban mueang), and there are 4 more townships (thesaban tambon).
The scepter is celebrated for having the infinitely rainfall of all Thailand, the rainy trade in far-off for about 8 months. This led to the bon mot that the propose Ranong is in fact taken from the English rain on – even though the name is actually pronounced ra-nawng. Within its compact area, Ranong contains various natural attractions and is blessed with hot springs and unspoiled mangrove forests.
Ranong is first manifest as a fishing and trading port. It was fixed by the Hokkian Chinese, and their fearless impinge is child’s play in the town. Ranong region is a gateway to Myanmar, with colourful longboats ferrying produce and people across the narrow divide that separates the two countries. The traffic is even heavier these days since a casino opened at Victoria Point.
The provincial tree is the Banaba (Lagerstroemia speciosa), and the provincial flower is the orchid Dendrobium formosum.
