A recent book by David McMillan’s the famous drug smuggler now living in UK has created kind of anger in the farrang community. They are wondering why a retired big time drug seller can live a happy life in UK and be cool about it. Sure he broke out from the so famous “Bangkok Hillton†aka Klong Prem prison. But he is still a drug smuggler and should serve his sentenced not be able to publish book about that he with the help of SAS troops and helpciopter managed to escape the prison. Well I guess the book is going to sell because he is the only one done it and the 600 other white people in lock down there want to know how they can escape as well. I do not feel sorry for none of the people that really smuggles drugs in Thailand they should be there they are. One funny comment I saw was “I hope he comes to Thailand to promote the book†I do not think so.
If you need to read more of this then you can read it the Thai Blog here but don’t buy the book.

I’ve heard only one-in-fifty manage to stay out of jail after theyve escaped. Maybe his luck will run out.
Apparently, McMillan asked around to get others to join the escape but in the end all backed out… I know this because I ended up buying the damn book. I didn’t want to give even a cent of my money to him but realized writers get paid less than 10% of published price. That works out at a fraction of what people make in the drug game even if a book sells well, so what the hell; a good story is worth hearing even if the teller is morally dodgy. If he stops dealing while writing his stories, then I suppose I’ve side-lined him from another run for a while.
There’s actually some quite funny moments in the book, and not all grim stuff. A lot more real than ‘Prison Break’ or the heart-break sob-stories others have done.
