Bri Visa Run in Pattaya to Cambodia and back.
Most expats living in Thailand do a visa run sooner or later and since I have already written about one visa run from Pattaya I thought it should be fair to write about another one.
This time I took Bri and Joy visa run from Pattaya on visa-pattaya.com and I must say I was disappointed. To be fair all visa runs are a pain in the butt, but you can hope that the visa run company does it best to fix this boredom.
So what Bri and Joy did wrong that Key Visa did not?
- Bri promises to pick you up from 06.20 to 07.00, I was waiting until 08.00 for my van.
- The van was older then Key Visa van but not filled with stinking passengers.
- They driver drove like he was flying an airplane and even if I do not mind Thai drivers this was something over the top.
- We picked up some lady in Koh Samet???!!! If you told me before I would make my visa run another day, I do not want to go all the way to Koh Samet to pick up one person. Why doesn’t she take a van to Pattaya and join us?
- Despite the fact that we went to Koh Samet our van was the first to arrive in the Cambodian border and for some strange reason they needed our passports so they could put sticks on them. We had to wait for the other two vans for 20 min in the hot sun outside Thai immigration because the other vans had out passports.
- You can imagine what happen when three visa vans arrive in the same time? You are correct a long will form and off course more waiting in the sun around midday.
- Now I am not a total idiot but some of the other runners were and with Key Visa they showed us how to get to the free food and casino. No staff from Bri showed us the way. One van also had some sick people onboard that they promised to help him and they totally ignored it. I ended up telling people not to buy fake medicine and cigarettes and guide people to the Casino.
I think all the companies use the same Casino so the food is the same whatever company you use so I do not need to comment on that.
Same thing when we arrived back to the Thai immigration, the passports had not passed the Cambodian Immigration, and the visas were not ready and our addresses had not been filled in. With Key Visa this was filled in already when we came back from the Casino.
On the way back they decided to bring a new person in our van and the driver had no idea where he lived and it was not on the same rout as the rest of us. So with the delay in Koh Samet and the traffic I think the last person did not end up home before 18.00, I got home around 17.00.
The good thing I can say about Bri visa run is that is the same service as the rest of them so they get the job done, the people in the buss did not stink of old beer bar and it is 100 THB cheaper then Key Visa.
