If you plan to move to Pattaya and stay there as your own residence, the thing you have to think about beside the place to live is the transportation. It’s impossible to travel around Pattaya without your own car or motorbike. Even it is, but it will cost you at least 150 Baht to anywhere you go no matter if it closes or far. Or you can take the two row bus which costs you 20 baht, but it takes a long time to get to your destination.
My suggestion is to buy a motorbike. You fill the gas about 100 baht and you can ride it around Pattaya for several time instead of paying the taxi 200 baht for each time you go. The process to buy the motorbike is also simple, you just go to the shop and then choose the motorbike you like and give them the house registration and ID card for Thai people and Passport for the foreigners.
After this buying process, you will get the motorbike immediately. Just in case, if you’re afraid that your motorbike will be stolen, they have the car loss insurance for you as well. If your motorbike would have been lost in the first year, the insurance will pay you 80% from the actual price and if your motorbike would have been lost in second year, they will pay you 60% from the actual price. I do this two years car loss insurance and I paid only 2,500 Baht. It’s save your money more than taking the bus especially for someone who is likely to stay at Pattaya at least a year.
